GMQex Youth Radio

What We Do

GMQex Youth Radio Network provides a media platform for the youth ages between 16 and 25 to deliver radio over the internet. By using our own services, we are able to provide a one stop shop which includes set up and configuration of an encoder, the broadcast of the content through our servers and the setting up of the station facilities that is, broadcast desk, mixer, cd players and other required equipment set to our standards.

The station is operated in conjunction with an individual or company in a designated area of the community. The overall intention is for the youth to see this as an opportunity for them to not only learn but be part of something which they are actually contributing to, so they have a voice.

How it works
GMQex has an agreement with an individual or company in the setting up and running of the youth internet radio, the agreement will outline the following:

- Objectives of the station
- Who runs the station
- Restrictions to broadcast content
- Who supports the station
- Cost on running the station

After a consultation with a propective individual or company, sould they want to go ahead with the station, a premis should be secured by them for the operation of the station. Once GMQex is satisfied that the premise is appropriate for the project, we will proceed to the training which is delivered in the form of workshops.
Our goal is to help the young people become efficient and also equiped to an extent where they should be able to deal with some of the many challenges in life.

Workshops
In the first 4 weeks of the workshop, the participants will focus on classroom activities, where they will work on all areas covered in the workshop syllabus. The second part takes us to the hands on period, as they execute various aspects of what was covered in the first five weeks..

Radio Stations
Each sponsor can setup a radio station subject to how many are already in existence within their locality. All sponsors wishing to participate in the GMQex Youth Radio Project can only execute a programme providing that they work in accordance to the guidelines set by GMQex.
